Initiated by high-profile women telling their stories about household names like Harvey Weinstein, the conversation spread and several countries had their version of a “Me Too moment.”
In January 2018, against this backdrop, CNN launched As Equals, a multi-platform series on gender inequality in the world’s least developed countries. Twelve months in, As Equals has extensively covered the Me Too movement and put a spotlight on other acute challenges facing women and girls.
