Phin Wong has worked across digital, social, print, radio and television. And 21 years in content creation – on both sides of the editorial / paid fence – have reinforced a simple truth: It always starts with the audience. Not just what they want, but what they’ll benefit from and what will start them thinking.
The Supervising Editor, Digital News / Lifestyle at Channel NewsAsia, made a return to editorial in January 2018 after starting up and running Brand Studio, the Drum Award-winning cross-channel content marketing arm of Singapore’s national broadcaster, Mediacorp.
Phin was previously Executive Editor at TODAY, Singapore’s second-most-read English-language newspaper, where his regular humour column frequently infuriated the humourless. Prior to that, he held editor positions at several lifestyle and entertainment publications.
He also believes he has single-handedly kept the bar scene alive in Singapore since the mid-90s.
Mediacorp has the widest range of media platforms in Singapore spanning digital, television, radio, print and out-of-home media. It pioneered the development of Singapore’s broadcasting industry, with the radio broadcast in 1936 and television broadcast in 1963. Today, the company has over 50 products and brands in four languages (English, Mandarin, Malay and Tamil), reaching out to virtually all adults in Singapore weekly.
